Creating Calm Virtual Group Pilot Project
Thank-you for joining the Creating Calm Pilot Project! As a thank-you for your participation in the Pilot Project, you will receive the downloadable workbook and seven 90 minute virtual classes for free. By participating in this project, you agree to fill out and return a feedback form after each class. You will be sent the workbook one section at a time. Once you have attended the virtual class and emailed back the feedback form, you will be emailed the next section of the workbook. Your feedback will be used to make updates to our existing programming, determine topics for future workbooks/programming, and potentially posted on our social media and website.
Creating Calm, a Do It Yourself Wellness Workbook is written for ages 14 and up. The workbook contains the following sections:
The Science Behind Stress
Your Stress Experience
Changing Your Thoughts
Self-Compassion
Mindfulness and Meditation
Other Things to Think About That Will Help to Reduce Stress
Art Journalling Activities
Planning for Stress
Each section contains information, Creating Calm strategies, reflection questions, and/ or activities to guide you in making your own stress plan.
Your first workbook link will be emailed to you on March 15, 2021. The workbook can either be printed or read on your computer and the activities completed in a journal or sketchbook of your choosing. All materials are for your personal use only.
If you are under the age of 18, parental consent will be required for you to be part of this project.
The Creating Calm Virtual Session includes 7 ninety minute virtual sessions, plus the Creating Calm Workbook. Dates for the Pilot Project Sessions are:
March 16 - 6:00-7:30 PM MST
March 23 -6:00-7:30 PM MST
March 30 - 6:00-7:30 PM MST
April 06 - 6:00-7:30 PM MST
April 13 - 6:00-7:30 PM MST
April 20 - 6:00-7:30 PM MST
April 27 - 6:00-7:30 PM MST
The virtual sessions will be offered through Zoom with Cheryl Sawatzky facilitating. Once your registration has been received, you will receive an email with meeting info and an attachment with the first section of the downloadable workbook. A notebook, journal, or sketchbook is recommended as well as a pen and pencil crayons/markers.
We will accept a maximum of 6 registrations for the Pilot Project.
Registration deadline is March 12, 2021.
